One of our core values as a corporation doing business in the Capital Region is to give back to the community in which we live and work. At MicroKnowledge, we provide time, talent and treasure to many organizations throughout the Greater Capital Region, not to seek recognition or awards but to assist those in need. Each month, through the Woman’s Employment & Resource Center (WERC), we donate classes to help women looking to re-enter the workforce in order to help them build economic and personal independence. Our teammates have assisted Literacy New York Greater Capital Region by providing staff resources and raising funds to educate our community on the impact illiteracy has on our individuals and families. In 2007, a team of MicroKnowledge-led walkers participated in the Susan G Komen for the Cure three-day, 60-mile walk in Boston raising $60,000 to help increase awareness of and research into breast cancer.
Also, we understand that professionals in the region are always looking for opportunities to increase their skills within their budget, but often those budget are constrained and have little room for training expenses. Each quarter, MicroKnowledge provides training events on a variety of both computer topics and business skills at no charge to the community. Our community helped us grow into the organization we are today, and we will keep giving back to help ensure the long-term vitality of community businesses and individuals.
