Established by the family of Anne S. Rosenthal, who lost a courageous battle with colon cancer in the fall of 2007, Anne’s Quest Foundation carries on her fighting spirit as it works to raise funds for cancer research and awareness. The foundation also assists with ensuring the quality of life and providing financial support to those touched by cancer.
“Anne was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, teacher, neighbor and trusted friend,” said Erin Sullivan, Anne’s daughter who is also a founder and member of the board of directors of Anne’s Quest Foundation.
“Anne had a profound effect on everyone she met and had a special knack for bringing out the best in others,” said Sullivan. “Anne was loving, kind and cared deeply for others. She was generous and did whatever she could to offer a helping hand.”
On Saturday, October 26, the 6th annual Anne’s Quest Foundation 5K Run/3K Walk will take place on the campuses of both Shaker High School in Colonie, where Anne worked as a math teacher for more than 20 years, and Siena College in Loudonville beginning at 9:30 a.m. Registrations are now being accepted online at annesquest.org/race.html. The registration fee is $25 in advance and $30 on race day.
A new feature this year is trick-or-treating along the walk route. Children in costume will be able to gather treats from the foundation’s volunteers as they walk in support of Anne’s Quest.
